I still can't get any more info from anyone about the stolen laptop containing the M&T Bank customer ID information. M&T and PFPC buried this one deep. I do find it strange that all of a sudden there has been a rash of "stolen laptops" all containing this type of info. I'm beginning to seriously doubt all the "stolen laptop" stories. I wasn't born yesterday. It looks like the security breaches are deliberate...people could be selling the info for big bucks. Social Security numbers are in demand right now to be sold/given to "undocumented" residents. I guess the only thing I can do is shut down all accounts, put everything in bank boxes and pay for everything by cash or purchase money orders.

Thank you for all your help and this website.

Kathy: It was an employee of a third party (PFPC) who had left the laptop in their vehicle. I know I don't leave anything valuable like that in my car.

Beth: I sent you an email with the actual file attached. I hope it prints out fine for you.

thanks SO much for posting the M&T breach letter. But the right hand text falls off when printed. Do you think you could repost so that it can be printed out in full? Many thanks!

This is quite disturbing. I'm calling my branch manager now. Vehicle theft? Why in the world do you leave a laptop in a car?
